SamsungIf you are using the Android operating system and wanted, even for a second, to get the full potential of your phone, then you certainly have heard of the CyanogenMod, the custom ROM for Android devices. Well, the brain behind this software, Steve Kondik also known as Cyanogen, has just been co-opted in the Samsung team. You are probably wondering if this new development will affect the very popular and beloved CyanogenMod. You should be happy to find out that the answer is no. Thus, the CyanogenMod is in safe hands!

Perhaps now we will see Samsung launching the updates for its mobiles in a timely manner, knowing the fact that we waited for several weeks the arrival of the newest Android OS on models such as the Galaxy S. Now that Cyanogen is working at Samsung, as we learn from its Facebook page, his mobile software engineer position can only benefit us all. Why, you might ask? Well, it is pretty simple because his expertise will accelerate the launch of Android updates. At least, so we hope…

In addition, if you were dissatisfied by the Samsung TouchWiz customizable interface, wait until you will see the Cyanogen version…  and then we’ll talk. It would be nice and interesting if CyanogenMod would become an official Samsung software product that we will be able to see on the Android handsets of the Asian manufacturer. One question remains though… will we see it on the phones of other manufacturers? Only time will tell. Stay tuned for more news and updates!
