Samsung broad 256 channel display driver

Announced today in Seoul, Korea, the well known company Samsung Electronics have announced that they have a new broad 256 channel display driver for plasma display panels, is now in mass production. This new driver will reduce the power consumption required to production the crystal clear displays.

Over the past couple of the year the flat panel TV market has really become competitive and as result has seen the prices drop quite a lot as the consumers become more aware of the difference between the many varieties of flat screen TV’s and the many different manufacturers.

The new display driver from Samsung will enhance the picture quality by giving high definition clarity for plasma screen TV’s, not to be confused with LCD TV’s which are considerably cheaper, but the picture quality is less clear and can sometimes be patchy depending on where you are viewing it from, yet with the plasma screen TV’s the picture quality is only available due to the amount of power that the unit uses, Samsung say that they have kept the quality and have been able to reduce the amount of power needed, which in this day and age, cannot be a bad thing. Samsung are not quite finished there, they are working on another display driver which is expected to reduce the power even more, maybe up to 40% more, this is due to be announced sometime in the later part of this year 2007.
