It’s official. Samsung have released a press release concerning the recently talked about Samsung Ultra Edition II cellphones. There are to be four versions of the device: Ultra Edition 10.9 (U600), Ultra Edition 12.1 (U700), Ultra Edition 9.6 (U300), and Ultra Edition 5.9 (U100).

Samsung U600

Coming at an impressive 10.9 mm thickness, certainly not the slimmest, but the Samsung Ultra Edition 10.9 (U600) (left) will truly blossom the elegance and modern style demanded by customers nowadays. Not only that, the stylish slide phone will also come in sapphire blue, garnet red, platinum metal and copper gold casing colors to suit the diverse market’s tastes. It also will come with a 3.2 megapixel camera along with a 2.22″ wide TFT LCD widescreen. With a storage size of 60MB internally along with an expandable space using miniSD disks, this phone is considered to be a topseller, considering its quad band connectivity.

Samsung U700

Next up is a similar phone, the Samsung Ultra Edition 12.1 (U700) (right). Clocking in at 12.1 mm thickness, it has to be the “fattest” out of the Ultra Edition IIs. Nonetheless, it’ll come with a 3.0 megapixel camera, a 2.2″ screen like the U600, but a disappointing 20MB of space internally with an expandable miniSD slot to make up for it. It certainly doesn’t seem like a monster, but the 3.6Mbps HSDPA data connection should serve as one of its highlights.

Samsung U300

The Samsung Ultra Edition 9.6 (U300) (left) is also a noteworthy phone. A 9.6 mm clamshell phone, the U300 comes with a 3.0 megapixel camera and a 2.2″ with a 240×320 like the other two mentioned above AND an external 96×16 OLED. Not only that, but the clamshell will also come with an internal 70MB of disk space, but oddly enough, this one won’t have an expandable miniSD slot.

Samsung U100

Last but not least is the Samsung Ultra Edition 5.9 (U100) (right). We’ve actually mentioned about this phone before, but now, we have some more solid details. The thinnest out of the upcoming family at an attractive 5.9 mm thickness, the U100 will also feature a 3.0 megapixel, but a bit smaller screen at a 1.93″ screen with a resolution of 220×176. Nonetheless, the U100 will still have an internal memory of 70MB, but not an expandable miniSD slot.

Also, all three phones are to have Bluetooth capabilities for those who aren’t too fond of wires. Like other Samsung cellphones, the Ultra Edition II will also still be able to play common media files such as MP3/ACC/eAAC+/WMA and video files, MPEG4/H.263. Not to forget, the details are pretty much the final details for the phone, but according to Samsung, some specs could slightly be changed. The phones are to first launch in Europe within the first quarter of this year; most likely March 2007. Unfortunately, it seems like a US release will be a bit later…
