Apple has now finally confirmed the fee it is going to charge for the software upgrade to enable 801.11n on Core 2 based Apple computers at $1,99. This may be cheaper than the $4,99 rumored  on various blogs and newssites during the last few days, but still annoying nevertheless, especially because the reasons seem quite unclear. Apple  says this is due to an US law for standard accounting practice,  implying that they don’t really want to charge but legally have to.  But why not charge $0,99 or even $0,01 then?
