The Mugen watch is not as strange as some, but it will take some time for the owner to learn how to tell the time, but maybe it is not about telling the time, maybe it is wrist art, little gems that adorn the wrists of those who feel that they need not wear a watch because they do not chase time, so the a little spare piece of space that needs covering up, so why not a Mugen watch.

The watch is available in both black or silver, and the name means infinity, so time and infinity go well together as does the way the time is displayed through a series of digital blocks which spiral around into infinity, quite aptly in fact. So how do you tell the time? It is relatively simple really, there are sixty blocks, each representing one minute each, they are grouped in tens, and with a inner spiral that represents one hour each, once used to the display it would be relatively simple to tell the time at glance, while everyone else is stumped at trying to either work out what is or what the time is.

One feature in the display is that every minute the display will spiral into the center, and then back out again before returning to the time setting once more, another weird and wonderful idea that will keep friends and colleagues busy for days, while you can after a few day be able to tell the time as fast as if it were a standard time piece.

Other notable features of this watch are it’s small size & weight.

The strap is a svelte 1.5mm thick
Weighs just 60 grams.
LCD display
English & Japanese Instructions
Time Only
Water Resistant
1 Year Warranty
Exclusive to Tokyo flash

The new and exclusive Mugen watch costs around £43, which is almost $84 US.

Citizen has always been at the fore front of watch making technology, from the first digital type watches and though to their latest offering, the watch that has a bluetooth capability.

Before your mobile phone rings, your watch will pick up the signal coming through and alert you before the mobile rings, this will give you an advantage if you are away from your desk, outside or traveling, I cannot even imagine to begin to count how many calls I have missed when my mobile phone has been in the pocket of my coat or when being out in a busy street, with this watch you will never miss another call again.

Another cool little feature is if you leave the phone somewhere, the watch will detect that the distance is to far and alert you to the fact that you may have left your mobile phone somewhere, now that is a pretty good tool, how many times have people left their phones in places and have not realized until it is far to late?

The watch is going to be launch in the middle of March, but initially that will be for just Japan, but it will surely move around the globe as it becomes more and more popular.

Sadly, it has a few disadvantages, as it only is able to show .raw photos and .nfx videos and uses 2.5mm headphones. It is available from Geekstuff4u in a 1GB and 2GB version for $161.62 and $38.50 more for the 2GB version.

No matter what, your geek and even non-geek friends will be impressed by this little one. Just don’t mention that watching the 2 hour movie gets a little, well, uncomfortable.

If you have ever seen the US hit series 24, then no doubt you are hooked on it. Now is your chance to own the same watch that Jack Bauer wore in series five,

The watch is a MTM Black Hawk Special Ops Watch, to give it its full title, and it appears that Keifer Sutherland liked the watch so much, that he does actually were it when he is not being Jack Bauer, so the watch also has celeb appeal.

Built to special ops requirements the Black Hawk has been designed to withstand to sort of punishment that you would expect from this type of working environment, the watch has a special lighting system that allows the user to see the time and other details without actually becoming a beacon when on a covert operation, but the opposite of that is the external light which is used for signaling and in the event of an extraction, this light is in orange and can be seen for up to a mile away depending on terrain and weather conditions.

What’s more because of the robust nature of the watch, changing the batteries may cause the watch to lose some of it strength or maybe even not be put back together properly, so to alleviate this type of accidental damage the batteries are rechargeable and can be charged up in a similar manner as a mobile phone.

To complete your special ops design, you are able to choose between to types of watch strap, the heavy duty Velcro strap design, or the tough black rubber type strap, as additional straps, the watch comes with a brushed black metal bracelet type strap.

The price of this special watch is around £330 or $450 for the basic version, the price can go high, as you are willing to pay, so be careful.

This is quite cool looking watch, there have been some attempts to combine a mobile phone and watch, or just a mobile phone that fitted your wrist, but they never really made simply because they were not designed to be cool, they were just designed to work.

This watch the M300 from a company called SMS Technology based in Australia has achieved to produce such an item without losing any of the points that a watch should look good and be pleasing on the eye.

The M300 will be tri-band, it has a one inch color display screen, can play MP3 and MP4 files, you will have the convenience of blue tooth connectivity, 64 MB of memory and will be able to give you nearly three and half hours talk time, and over eighty in standby mode.

The company will be shipping the fist consignments out by the end of April 2007, to mainland Europe, and the cost of the M300 is expected to be around the £261, which is around $510 US, it is not a bad price for something that is quite cool and actually looks stunning.

Further more there are plans to bring out two more exclusive versions, one is to be an expensive up market version the M501 which will be made of gold and titanium, this one is due to be available in and around June 2007, and then there will be the business version, this will be the M700 an will have a whole host of business tools contained within its little body, like Office and Outlook synchronization and the possibility of being able to view Excel spreadsheets on the tiny screen, sounds fantastic if they can pull it off.

There was a time when watches were just time pieces. However, technological revolution has changed the concept of our life and with time, watches too have got a face-lift. Yes, the time is now of the modern Swatch watch PMP. The concept of this wonderful gadget comes from noted designer Pierre Merlet.

Designed in the form of a bracelet, Swatch PMP watch serves a wide variety of functions. Apart from its removable face, the Swatch infinity concept watches also have MP3 player, video and photo viewer, and a type of recording function. However, it seems that it is not embedded with any built-in-camera. The Swatch watch probably has some sort of impromptu voice recorder.

Watches are the key style icons at the moment, they come in many different styles, sizes and cost, and it appears that the most expensive watches are clearly the very best.

Yet there is a growing trend recently in watches that do not appear to tell the time, or rather I should say not easily tell the time, this is true about the Nooka Zot Classic Watch, this is a normal looking watch from a distance, but close up you will not see the classic clock face or digital readout as we got to know so well, the Nooka Zot only has a series of holes and a slot, so how is it possible to tell the time with a watch that does not have any of the traditional features? Well there are a series of twelve dots which represent the twelve hours and a slot or bar that indicates the where about in the day the time is i.e. halfway would be midday and so on, it is not the sort watch that you would want to be wearing if you were in a hurry or five minutes late or something similar.

I suppose that the people who would be wearing a watch like this would not be the type of person who is chasing the clock all day long. Although the watches do come with an alarm and chronograph, for those of you who are a messy work, you will be pleased to know that the watch is easy to keep clean, you just have to wipe it with your T Shirt!

Surprisingly the these watches are not as expensive as you would be thinking, when you consider that this is a designer product from New York, the one illustrated is the Zot V2 and will cost around $250.

I am pretty sure I saw this design in Berlin at a USB design show in a gallery: iRiver has a “new” concept: the USB watch where the USB connecter is actually in the strap itself.

Looks interesting, especially when you take a close look and notice that Bluetooth logo beneath the display. Remote control for your other gadget devices? Maybe, but also notice that little jack on the top? Integrated flash memory? Possibly. But with Bluetooth that doesn’t make much sense…so, what about a receiver for your audio streaming? Maybe using your mobile phone as memory?

But who would want the headphone cables coming from their wrist? I prefer tucking it into my coat to be honest. Anyhow, this is all only a concept and pure speculation anyway.
