Sony to launch PS3 in Europe and Australia

Sony Corp. on Thursday announced that on March 23, it will be launching the PlayStation 3 in Europe and Australia. () was earlier launched by Sony in November 2006 in Japan and USA. PS3 was, in fact, a great success over there. This factor has led Sony for its European and Australian release.

Two different models of this console are available in Japan and America, which includes a 20GB model and a 60 GB model. However, the European consumers will have to satisfy themselves only with the 60GB model. This is because is in no mood to release the 20GB model in Europe. However, later on if demands are high for the 20GB model, than the Company might rethink about bringing out the 20GB model also.

The price which Sony will impose for their PS3 in Europe will be £425, that is, around €600. Sony is optimist when it comes to the expected figure of sales and is planning to ship one million units for the launch. The long waited PS3 games console will consist of 30 titles, of which except a few, the rest will be available in a disc. The others can be downloaded from the store of PlayStation. All the games are in hi-definition format. Sony has almost touched the sales of its nearest rival 360.
