LG r400

The LG R400 is the first notebook to be shipped with Samsung’s new hybrid harddisk, the Samsung MH80.

Instead of having traditional 2MB, 4MB or even 8MB of traditional cache for the harddisk, Samsung’s hybrid harddisk, that comes in sizes of 80GB, 120GB and 160GB , uses 128MB or 256MB of Samsung OneNAND flash memory. This means speedy boot times, better resume times, reliability improvement and less power consumtion, resulting in roughly 30 minutes more laptop battery lifetime.

The LG R400 is going have a built-in 120GB MH80 harddisk and also features a 1.73GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T5300 processor, 1GB RAM, ATI Mobility Radeon X2300 graphics with 128MB video RAM and a 14.3display. Bluetooth and Wireless offer connectivity.

Available hopefully from the end of March for roughly CA$1,200.
