solar energy

However there is project being dreamed up by the guys at the National Security Space Office (NSSO) who are conveniently based in the pentagon, the idea is to have a network of satellites surrounding the earth which will collect the stronger solar energy from space before it is filtered through the earths atmosphere, as thus the power should be stronger, but it is unlikely to be enough to replace the oil, coal and other bad power generators that we currently use.

In any case solar powered satellites that surround the earth and are managed by the pentagon, haven’t we heard that one before, remember the “Star Wars” defense shield!

the paragraph is complete wrong, understatedsolar power is completely working. you can run not only calculators, but as well as refslet’s support solar energy

    Anime dreams becoming real. Scary.

I’ve seen solar powered houses. When no power is being used the excess energy issoldto the city’s normal electricity suppliers. *Electricity meter spins backwards.*
Good tech hope it gets somewere.

大爆笑だ. this will never became true, we all know. Don’t be ridiculous

Solar power is becoming a great option to heat water and provide electricity for other purposes specially in tropical areas where we have more days of sunny weather than other zones. We need to let go power generated by fossil fuelsdid you see what happened this weekend Europe? some people died from the heat wave, while other people saw their neighbourhood flooded in Britain. Solar power and Hydrogen are two options to get out of oil dependency.

I thought of this when i was a little kid. The idea is (された) to build HUGE satelites and fly them closer to the sun. The main problem is how to transport the collected energy back to planet Earth. I bet Tesla would be of great help. Too bad there’s no one like him nowdays.

well its no ridiculous to hope using clean solar energy, in fact there are well known successes of its use, but the large oil companies are making their efforts not let this hope come true in the nearby future.

Just remember, the large oil companys got large because of the customers. We are the customers and we are way larger than these companys. They need us, we make or break them. How many of us absolutely need them? Do they make or break us? Solar energy is a great and viable option availiable to those who seek it. It seems to me a question of what we can sacrifice to reduce our use and eventually switch to alternatives. ” It was the straw that broke the camels back”.

The Idea for the SPSS has been around since the 1970’s. It is a viable option. It is something that we could of done 25 年前. What I would like to know is has anybody done an environmental impact study? We need a viable alternative to fossil fuels if we are to halt global warming. Halting the degradation of the envrionment is a whole other issues. Homo Sapiens is a risk. Lets get on with it folks before we end up without a viable environment.

How exactly would you get the power back to earth? Build giant power wires? even if possible you would loose all of the energy from the solar panels just trying to transmit the electricity accross such a large distance.

  10. darklanceff on November 21, 2007 1:55 午後

we do need to find alternate ways of makeing electricity, but untill we find something thats viable, mabey we should just use thousands of rats running in little wheels?

  11. Shirley Ann Shelden on December 11, 2007 3:35 午後

SPS would use microwaves to transmit energy back to earth. The tech is available now. It would be great if someone would launch one and see how well they work and/or if there are any enviornmental problems that would result.

solar radiation is just not strong enough and cannot be relied upon to supply a constant stream of solar energy.
    うわー.
The numbers disagree on this point. The solar flux is 5400×10^21 joules/year. Thats more energy than coal (250E21J), Oil (12E21J), Methane (10E21J), Oil Shales/Tar Sands (100E21J), 238Uranium (1E21J), 239Plutonium (150E21J), and 239Thorium (100E21J) combined. Not to mention the rough estimates of the non-solar energy listed is not flux ( per time period), but taking into account all known Earth sources and their lifetime power outputs.

Your statement, “solar radiation is just not strong enough and cannot be relied upon to supply a constant stream of solar energy. Is thankfully ludicrously wrong.

However there are caveats. If we harvested this energy in its entirety we would be denying power to plants, the winds, tides, and our global temperature (not counting the energy that would decay into heat through its use). So obviously only a portion of this power is available for anthropogenic purposes

    AnywhoLong live the Sun.

I love solar power I think over the next few years it’s going to be exploding even moreas performance of solar panels goes up people are going to be adopting it everywhere they canafter all it’s free energy 🙂

Some things I’m looking forward to are more effiecient solar panels, 〜について 5 years from now when I buy my house I want to make sure I can power the entire house and my plugin hybrid all on solar powerI’m also hoping that solar paint will finally be in customers handshaving your entire house generate so much electricity and maybe even being able to sell it back to the grid would be amazing

BTW here is more great Solar Power information, there is quite a few amazing new solar projects being done right nowit’s really great to see so much focus on alternative energy.

うわー, wouldnt this be interesting. We need to find energy replacement for oil though. しかしばがら, this would be great for the utility bills. Solar power is going to become the newest and greatest thing for energy.

the cost of Solar Cells for Solar Energy utilization has been decreasing over the past years. pretty soon, solar energy would be a more viable alternative than fossil fuels.
