iOS 5 beta 5Since the arrival of the iOS 5 beta, a variety of methods have emerged that allows the activation of our terminals. En revanche, each of them is different because they affect the functions of the Pomme terminals. Most of these methods do not perform the activation in the true sense of the word so we lose the ability to use the calling function of our phone. Fortunately, the method described in this article activates the device but a tethered jailbreak is required.  In order for this tutorial to be successful, you must have iOS 5 beta 5 installed on your terminal and iTunes 10.5 Beta 5 installed in your computer.  You can get these two files from an IOS app’s developer. Let’s kick it off!

After the installation of the iOS 5 beta 5 on your terminal, you must perform a tethered jailbreak by using redsn0w 0.9.8 beta 5. Boot in tethered mode and use Funbox or iPhone Explorer in order to access your device’s system files. Then go to CoreServices in / Système / Library / from where you will copy the SystemVersion.plist file to your computer. I recommend that you save it in two different locations. The next step is to open that file with a text editor and delete the following entries: <key> ReleaseType </ key> et <string> Beta </ string>. It is advisable to use Notepad with administrator privileges if you are using Windows. After the document is saved, copy it to its original location on your terminal and restart the terminal. It is highly recommended that you activate the DFU Mode and boot it in tethered mode with redsn0w.

After the restart, you will be able to perform the activation directly from your terminal without iTunes. se souvenir, these steps must be done every time you reboot the terminal.
