Sony has announced the VGX-XL3 Home Theater PC, which not only impresses with good looks but also with nice features - except for my obvious dislike of Blu-Ray compared to HD-DVD. Speaking of which, the VGX-XL3 doesn’t only offer a Blu-Ray drive but a Blu-Ray burner!
Apart from Blu-Ray, the VGX-XL3 also offers a huge 500GB of storage, a wireless keyboard for controlling it and HDMI and 1394 for connectivity. And if that’s not enough, the nice horizontal case also manages to make space for a CableCard slot.
Sony says this beauty will ship in April, but don’t expect it to be cheap - you might want to call your bank manager now.

This PC does NOT support 1080p only 1080i. The “Full HD 1080″ sticker is misleading.
I guess all sony home theater are now support the latest Blue-Ray format which is better in terms of graphic and audio quality and its performance.
At recent market, one of the famous and cheapest Blue-Ray player are Sony PS3. But if you want Blue-Ray recorder you will have to pay premium price as its now still limited.

Sal,
You are wrong. Of course your post is a year old, however even at that time it was known that this problem was just a registry edit away from 1080p.
Other than only having one tuner which would enable full DVR functionality, this is an outstanding HTPC.
