It has long been a fact that small items such as calculators can use solar power to run instead of using a battery, so why is there system for laptops, mobile phones and other smaller gadget types.
UK based company Solar Technology has developed a range of charging devices that can charge up the internal batteries and that enables it power mobile phones, pda’s and other related electrical items that require a recharging of the battery pack.
What’s more you do not need to live in Spain where there is constant sunshine blazing down, there Free Loader as the system is called can recharge the battery pack, so you can be using an iPod while it is being powered by the Free Loader system, this means that you can operate the device without the battery being charged, hence if you use the Free Loader you may not have to pay for the charging of the battery packs of mobile phones, pda’s, games devices, digital cameras and music players.

The Free Loader device takes power from the solar energy that surrounds us, the rays are picked up through the panels, or you can even charge the pack up via the USB port on the computer and then plug the attachment into the device that is low on battery.
Once charged, Freeloaders internal battery can power an iPod for 18hours, a mobile phone for 44 hours, PSP for 2.5 hours and a PDA for 22 hours, so you can see the potential for this product.
You can but this product for around £30 or $58 US, which is not bad for a device that could save your sanity while out and about.
