Volaris, a low-cost Mexican airline has started renting out iPods to travelers on their flights, charging 50 Pesos or roughly $5. By starting the service with a free one day introduction on February 8th, they beat other airlines looking into the idea, such as Continental Airlines , Delta Air Lines and United Airlines. Currently the iPods are loaded with Mexican TV shows and popular music.
I personally don’t find the idea very good. I am a frequent flyer and enjoy the built-in entertainment systems that airlines such as SAS offer. I would prefer watching a movie on a decent sized screen, thank you. This is another example of the power Apple has with it’s iPod brand.

I am sure they must have done their market research and found out that there are profits to be made before putting the ipod for rent idea into action.
