Orange developing mobile TV

orange logoThe Sunday Telegraph is reporting, that “Orange is developing technology that will turn its handsets into TV remote controls“.

The technology, which is only planned for the UK, will not only allow customers to use their mobile phone as remote controls to program their VCR/DVD-Recorders, but also transfer media from their TV and PCs to the mobile phone screen.

mobile tvThe service is similar to the service offered by Virgin Media and Sky/3 Network in the UK, as well as the one offered by France Telecom, Orange’s parent company, in France.

The UK seems to be becoming one of the most advanced countries for technology in Europe.
