Sony Ericsson: PC300 Mobile Broadband PC Card

Sony Ericsson pc300Sony Ericsson has announced the PC300 Mobile Broadband PC Card, which is a PCMCIA supporting HSDPA, UMTS, EDGE and GPRS with download speeds up to 3.6Mbps.

The PC300 will support HSDPA/UMTS/EDGE handover and resel ection with HSDPA and UMTS working on 850, 1900 and 2100 MHz (Tri-Band) and GPRS and EDGE at at 850, 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz (Quad-Band). Supported operating systems are Windows (2000, XP and Vista) and MacOS X, but I presume the Linux/*nix community will come up with their own drivers.

According to SE’s press release, the PC300 Mobile Broadband PC Card should be available towards the 3rd quarter of 2007.
