NEC has developed a system that claims to be able to detect if a caller is human or a computer and therefor being able to be used as a spam detector for VoIP. A twist on the famous Turing test, claims iTWire.
The system, the SPIT (spam over Internet telephony) blocker, is to be shown at the upcoming (February) 3GSM conference in Barcelona by NEC, who claimed that it had a success rate of 99% in test runs.
