We featured an article about the new ASUS P735 because of it’s GPS module, which now it seems not to have. According to many forums and news articles, the ASUS news release did not mention any GPS module. Sadly, this phone lost one of main features that turned it from a very interesting gadget to a cool gadget.
The specs are still nice though, featuring a Marvell Xscale 520MHz processor and 64MB RAM, 256MB ROM and 2,8″ QVGA display with a screen resolution of 280*320 pixels. Connectivity is provided by GMS (quad band), GPRS, UMTS, 802.11 b/g WLAN, Bluetooth 2.0 and USB 1.1. The built-in camera has 2 Megapixels and autofocus, which should be enough for some decent snapshots while on the run. The 1300mAh battery should be strong enough for some hours work and the whole thing weighs 143g including it, which is not too bad.
With GPS this would have been great…
[Thanks to our commentator “me” for pointing this out!]
