Boeing 787 not too include wireless system

The Boeing 787 is not going to have the announced wireless system, as it is too heavy. The amount of wires Boeing were going to save by using wireless amounted to 50 Pounds, whereas the wireless equipment would have weighed a full 150 Pounds more, clocking in at 200 Pounds. Apart from the weight problem, Boeing also claims that getting worldwide permissions for the frequencies used had been proving difficult and the bandwidth was not good enough in all parts of the world. Furthermore, Boeing was not happy with the way the equipment was working itself.
But the last point mentioned might be the actual main reason: it will speed up the development schedule of the 787 Dreamliner.
