Intel unveils new generation wireless chips for Centrino

802.11n wireless by IntelOn the basis of the draft 802.11n wireless standard, Intel has released its new WiFi chip. Intel’s next generation wireless chip or the new WiFi chip will be adorning the 802.11n wireless to its Centrino notebooks. Apart from these, it is also hoped that other vendors, such as, Dell and Hewlett-Packard will also follow their foot stepsCode-named previously as Kedron, the wireless chips will be used by Acer, Toshiba and Gateway while making notebooks.

This new technology will give impetus to the bandwidth and will therefore be a matter of great speed and fun to download music, videos, web pages and the like. Hence fast streaming and downloads will be a matter of great ease with it.

This WiFi Link 4965 AGN chipset of Intel was released on Wednesday amidst great fanfare. Further, this chip will provide one hour of extra battery life range up to 2x of 802.11a/b/g. Dave Hofer, director of wireless marketing, Intel claimed that wireless chips will offer a bandwidth up to 300 Mbps.

Intel has declared to ship this new chip much ahead of its declared timeline for release. With this new inclusion, notebooks with older version may have to pack-up from the market.
