iBoy Showcased! Well… Not Really…

An interesting little update this time. Nintendo had a lot of fun in the late 1990s with the release of the Game Boy. Some time ago, someone got an iPod to run Doom using NES controllers. This time around, a Flickr user “sirljohns” used a good old Nintendo Game Boy to run the iPod!

The modded Game Boy, sadly enough, won’t be able to simultaneously run a game pack and the iPod. So once you’ve said good bye to Super Mario, you’ll be able to redeem probably one of the most original iPod cases ever released.
sirljohns actually got the Game Boy’s buttons wired up with an internal dock connector inside, so that the buttons will fully control the iPod itself without having to open the case up every time.

Wow. Now that is unique and looks totally awesome.
Haha. That’s so cool. I’m impressed on how he got the buttons to work on it.
Very impressive, I’m a bit jealous of your tinkering skills. The reason I found this is because I was looking for an open gameboy so I can see if I could put a light in it. This beats my idea by a lightyear.
