BusinessWeek: Apple’s Chinese Supply Lines

There is an interesting article by the BusinessWeek on their website about how Apple produces it’s product using Taiwanese companies on the Chinese Mainland (Peoples Republic of China). It is quite interesting, especially due to many negative reports on the wages paid to workers in factories producing Apple iPods in the media a couple of months ago, that the producers (who pay the employees, Apple only pays the producing company) have a much larger profit margin than when producing electronics for other companies (around 4% instead of 2%). The article also claims that Apple expects much higher standards than other American companies from it’s producers. Read the full article here.
